President Barham Salih received the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Iraq, Iraj Masjedi, at al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, following the conclusion of his duties as ambassador. During his time in Iraq, Ambassador Masjedi was instrumental in developing ties between the two countries, and Salih wished him success in his future assignments.
The president emphasized the depth of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries and peoples, and stressed the importance of working to develop and enhance them in various areas in a manner that serves the interests of both countries. Ambassador Masjedi affirmed the support of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the security and stability of Iraq, and the strengthening of economic and social ties that unite the two neighbors.
